Your Monthly Plumbing & Water Industry Round-Up for South East London

At PlumbPride, we know that plumbing isn’t just about pipes and taps—it’s about keeping homes, businesses, and communities running smoothly. That’s why we’re launching Plumbers on the Pulse: a monthly round-up of the most important plumbing and water news that matters to homeowners, landlords, and site managers across South East London.

Why Stay in the Loop?

The plumbing world may not always hit the headlines, but when it does—it affects us all. From water supply issues to new regulations and industry changes, staying informed can save you time, stress, and money. With Plumbers on the Pulse, we’ll cut through the noise and deliver practical insights straight to your inbox.

This Month’s Hot Topics 🔥

• Hosepipe Bans Across the South – While London has avoided restrictions (for now), neighbouring counties like Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Gloucestershire have already been hit with bans due to dwindling reservoirs. Homeowners in South East London should stay alert—conditions can change quickly.

• Thames Water in Crisis – A £1.65 billion loss and calls to abolish the regulator Ofwat have put the water industry in the spotlight. What does this mean for customers? We’ll keep you updated on how decisions at the top trickle down to your taps.

• Plumbing Business Confidence Drops – Rising costs, shrinking order books, and a shortage of skilled workers are putting pressure on the plumbing and heating sector. The good news? Local independent firms like PlumbPride remain committed to quality service, with no compromise on reliability.

• Burst Pipes and Local Disruptions – South Bermondsey residents were hit by a major burst this July, leaving homes and even Millwall FC’s stadium without water. These incidents highlight why quick access to trusted local plumbers is essential.
